I've read that which side each is located does matter, and I've read that it doesn't. I have mine plumbed the way the factory did it and it works well. I agree with huskinhano, absolutely run the PCV unless it is a race car only. I've tried to run my car with out a PVC & used dual breathers on my valve covers. No matter how much I tuned the carb & tried to compensate; the car just plain ran better with the PVC installed.
